Spending the morning writing about intersections of development, aid, and militarism. Saw this tweet and thought it was appropriate:

And went quite well with the African Governance Institute’s use of the term “demographic bomb,” which I guess is replacing the idea of the youth bulge? Regardless, two interesting linguistic cases, utilizing militaristic terms to invoke two very different ideas.
